SAYONARA: Olivier Rousteing, Farida Khelfa, Nicolas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto, Tom Pecheux and Orlando Pita were among guests at a brunch hosted by Vogue Japan on Sunday at Paris’ Kinugawa restaurant.
There, Vogue Japan toasted its 15th anniversary issue, a Mario Testino special fronted by Miranda Kerr sporting a traditional geisha costume. The cover was styled by Anna Dello Russo, and on the gatefold Kerr is dressed as a samurai.
“I love the Japanese people, traditions, the food,” said the model while eating sushi. She sported a Céline blouse, H&M pants and a Versace belt. “I like to mix things.”
“It is a very sophisticated brunch,” noted Karlie Kloss, who showed up in simple pearl gray blouse and pants. “I like these muffins going around.”
“It was so much fun last night [at the Jean Paul Gaultier show]. Rossy de Palma was hilarious,” said Kehla. “For a last show, it was really nice. It’s a way to say ‘ciao’ with passion. And there were some really beautiful outfits.”
“I loved the Madame de Fontenay look,” added Pecheux, explaining to Pita the reference to Geneviève de Fontenay, who ran the Miss France contest for years.
“I think I was Japanese in another life. I am so attracted to the culture,” said Pita, who masterminded the hair look for the Dior spring 2007 couture show.
“The collection was inspired by Cio-Cio San, the geisha,” he continued. “It was one of the highlights.”
