Neil Patrick Harris! Proclaiming, “I’m in. Nice…” the actor these days crossed off the lone item that remained on his bucket listing: “Host the Oscars. ”
The actor, currently starring in Gone Girl, will certainly host the 87th annual Academy Awards show, happening Feb .. 22 on ABC, Variety reports. Harris is no stranger towards the hosting gig, having emceed the Tonys four times, lately in 2014 (pictured, above).
While he is well known for his epic comedy timing, Harris has a tough act to follow: Last year’s display, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, attracted the biggest Oscar viewership within 14 years, according to Variety. Not only that, DeGeneres also set another document that year: posting the most retweeted selfie to date.
Those might be some tough shoes to fill, but if anyone can do it, NPH can. We can’t wait to tune in Feb. 22, 2015!
