PEOPLE’s Executive Editor Kate Coyne interviewed Katie Holmes for this week’s include story, and of course she asked the question everyone’s dying to know. No, not really “What’s Suri’s Favorite Clothing Store?, ” although we’re still curious about which. She asked the secret behind Katie’s amazing hair. Below, Coyne reveals the girl findings.

I’ll confess that when We went to interview Katie Holmes last week, I knew a lot about her upcoming movie projects, but very little about her beauty endorsement deals. I’d heard the girl was the new Global Brand Ambassador for Olay skincare (with skin such as hers, it’s no surprise), but I thought that was the extent of it.

An excellent I met Katie in person, it wasn’t just her impossibly radiant pores and skin - yes, at 35, she uses Olay - that I noticed. Rather, what really stood out was her hair. She has, no kidding, IDEAL hair. The kind of hair you would normally hate someone for having - thicker, lustrous, straight-but-not-flat, shiny-but-not-limp, simply gorgeous hair. It was hard not to stare.

Once i learned that Katie’s hair was thanks to the other beauty deal she’s struck during the past year - as co-owner and spokesperson for Alterna, an all-organic type of hair care products - I stopped being envious and started asking queries. Specifically, which products had she used that day, and would they are doing the same for me?
