In the rulebook of life, there is absolutely no line that states that a ring worn on one's ring finger should mean the wearer is engaged. It simply means everyone is going to assume you are hitched, especially if said ring is a big ole diamond. But because fashion will never be confined by customs or social norms, celebrities have chosen to bedeck their own ring fingers with bling that is not pre-nuptial bling, simply because it's pretty.
