“I wanted to play up her eyes, therefore i went for an edgy, sultry vibe by mixing charcoals and a shimmery aquamarine shade, ” makeup artist Jillian Dempsey tells InStyle. Once prepping the star along with smooth skin and contoured cheekbones, she grabbed Chanel’s reliable Quadra Eye Shadow in Smoky Eyes ($61; chanel. com) for added intensity. She first dusted the matte black shade on Stewart’s lids after which switched to the shimmery teal hue from the brand’s Quadra Eye Shadow in Fascination ($59; chanel. com) for your outer corners. Next, using the same palette, she taken the cerulean shade along the inner corners and reduced lash lines. “I curled her lashes and then used several coats of Le Volume de Chanel Eye shadow in Noir ($30; chanel. com) to the top as well as bottom lashes, making special emphasis on the top outer eyelashes, ” Dempsey adds. In typical Stewart fashion, the girl finished off the look with a barely-there lip.

As for her hair makeover? “I wanted to give Kristen a chic and effortlessly stylish new cut, something in order to perfectly reflect her personality, ” hairstylist Giannandrea stocks. “I began by chopping away the back and the edges of the hair with a pair of thinning shears to help develop a steep layered grading and proceeded to razor reduce the whole top to give Kristen her edgy, long directed ends, ” he says. “This cutting technique is frolicsome and softly shapes the neck and cheekbones. ” After chopping her strands, he applied Macadamia Expert Foaming Volumizer ($25; ulta. com) all over the roots to produce body and texture. Once blow drying with his fingers for added lift, he misted a workable hairspray and sectioned her hair into small and medium areas, passing a flat iron on the ends. Taking a dime-sized quantity of Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream ($26; macadamiahair. com) in his fingers, he “created a deep side angle part to swoop over and then twisted each area to finesse the texture. ”
