The Dress: 100 Iconic Moments in Fashion ($18; amazon. com) is an ode to the the majority of stunning garments Hess has drawn more than her career: from designer pieces which have walked the Paris and London runways, to unforgettable ensembles seen on the silver screen (Audrey Hepburn, above, donned the padded ball gown in 1954’s Sabrina) and also the most royal of weddings. Each example is accompanied by a description of the film or even moment when the dress first captured our own hearts and stepped into fashion history.
