Behind the Scenes Morgan Lane Lingerie

THE PARTICULAR MAKING OF A LINGERIE LOOKBOOK

Morgan Curtis, the 27-year-old daughter of Jill Stuart, is no stranger to the fashion scene. But when Curtis decided to enter the market two years ago, she took a slightly different approach than her mom, developing lingerie instead of ready-to-wear. "I have had a passion for lingerie as long as I can remember. The particular tiny intricate details are the best part, " Morgan says of her picked field, adding, "It is amazing how something so little and hidden will make such a difference, whether it's the fastening showing through your low-backed shirt or your vettig strap sticking out. " Here, Curtis took ELLE. com behind the scenes of the woman latest lookbook shoot and gave us a little preview into what the woman creative process is like.

All the accessories laid out for the shoot

What went through your brain while designing this collection?
For my fall 2014 collection I really centered on this idea and the importance of the details. My theme was the flower of the night time. I used lots of dark exotic laces; colors like moonshine yellow, night blue, and deep burgundy; tulle painted with gold stars; and a technique improvement gold elastic. The highlight of the season was a gold and black candy striped fabric, because when your lingerie is literally sparkling underneath your dress, your night time can be nothing but dazzling even if you end up being the only one to see it.

The actual moodboard

Nighties is such a personal investment. Who is the Morgan Lane girl and kind of female buys this lingerie?
She is confident, smart, engaging, funny, frolicsome, modern, and also sexy. She’s a city girl and she knows exactly what she would like. She is that irresistible woman who manages to be incredibly attractive while at the same time certainly not taking herself too seriously.

Organizing different looks

How do you account for different sizes? Which are the most flattering items on everyone?
Sizing has been an area that I’ve set a lot of work and emphasis on. We fit on all different body types and this helps a lot. I’m a woman with tons of female friends-I’ve seen so many undressed girls! I’ve found a few items look great on everyone and my preferred are my high-waisted panties. If you are super petite, they can give you more of a condition, and if you are curvier, they miraculously becoming slimming. The Drake bra will be my new favorite bra; if you have a small chest, the lines and cutout on the yoke of the demi style miraculously change the shape of your chest, so that it is look curvy. And if you have a large chest, the double mesh adds fantastic support while the cutout shows a little skin-all with the beautiful gold stripe stretchy trim making your basic, comfortable, wearable bra something truly fantastic as well.

Working with the model

What is the general mood of the lookbook?
Dalia is getting looking forward to a night out, trying on different lingerie, changing her mind, trying in something else, putting on makeup, trying on something else again, and eventually just deciding to attend bed instead. It’s basically how I get ready (and end up).

Why body that lingerie even needs a lookbook? Since it is not really something that people “style” in themselves.
Because it tells a story. Call it nighttime reading: You can imagine yourself during these scenes and desire to be the woman wearing everything.

A close look at the lingerie

How do you desire Morgan Lane to stand out from the pack?
I have always been a collector of beautiful items, whether it be vintage glassware, antique perfume bottles, or pressed flowers. I want Morgan Lane to be something girls want to collect and treasure. It should be a lifestyle that you simply make every part of your day: lingerie that wants to be seen.
