From the time his arrival at Balenciaga in 2012, creative director Alexander Wang has become toying with the formulation of a fresh new fragrance for the iconic label. Cool ladies everywhere can now rejoice, because B. Balenciaga, or “bee-dot” for short, is usually finally available (Neiman Marcus, $110/1. 7 fl. oz . ). Infused using earthy notes of violet green leaves, edamame, and a dash of prosperous cashmeran wood, the scent “reflects a casual elegance that’s not too important, ” Wang tells InStyle.
The fragrance is meant “to convey a timeless heart, but with modern notes that could be triggered in different layers upon wear, ” Wang says. “One of my favorite flowers is Lily of the Valley. It’s subtle and feminine, but powerful in scent. ” To complement the floral element, “we wanted to infuse a masculine, deeper touch, so we introduced cashmeran woods, ” he adds. “I love the cleanliness of green notes and the surprising portion of edamame. ”
