They might have called time on their marriage in March this year.
But Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are determined to remain friends and continue on with a peaceful family life for the sake of their children Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.
The pair looked at ease in each other’s company when they headed out for a bite to eat with their children at swanky LA eatery Il Ristorante Di Giorgio Baldi on Saturday afternoon.

During their lunch date Chris and Gwyneth shared some laughs as they ushered their two children back into the car.

Gwyneth, 41, showed off her style credentials in a cropped leather jacket, a white top, denim boyfriend jeans and brown leather sandals.
Her fair hair was worn out with a subtle wave and she appeared to have ditched the make-up, instead flaunting her natural yet translucent complexion.
Chris, 37, kept it casual in a white T-shirt, cargo trousers and black trainers.
The Coldplay frontman accessorised his look with a pair of aviator sunglasses, a black necklace and his favourite badge with the word Love adorned on it.

Earlier in the week the family of four enjoyed another outing in LA together and late last month the Martin-Paltrow posse headed to the Hamptons for a short break.
Meanwhile The Hollywood Reporter recently claimed Gwyneth will be hosting a lavish fundraiser for President Barack Obama in LA on October 9.
The evening will reportedly include a reception and the opportunity to ask questions 'at an intimate dinner,' per an email from a Hollywood fundraiser.
Tickets for the Democratic National Committee event will start at $1,000 per person for the reception.

While Gwyneth prepares for her big hosting gig, it appears the Coldplay rocker is spending increasing amounts of time with rumoured flame, actress Jennifer Lawrence, even introducing her to his inner circle.
A source told E! News the two were spotted having dinner with the rocker's pals on Thursday night at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.
‘It doesn't seem like it's a new relationship. They seem super affectionate and at ease with each other,' the source said.

They added: 'They seem very comfortable in each other's company - and happy! She is very gregarious and confident ... They seem super cute together.'
According to New York Posts' Page Six column, Jennifer and Chris were in great spirits as they attended a friend's birthday bash at the infamous celebrity hot-spot and 'had grins from ear to ear.'
And it seems there are no hard feelings from Gwyneth towards Chris's blossoming new romance, with sources telling Page Six she's given her tick of approval. 'Things are very amicable, and Gwyneth is happy for Chris,' the insider confirmed.
